Tournament Formats

Understand the different tournament formats available in paddlX.

Choosing Your Format

paddlX supports the most popular tournament formats to suit any competitive event.

Choosing Your Format

Single Elimination

Players are eliminated after a single loss. This is the fastest format, ideal for large fields or limited time. A single champion is crowned.

Double Elimination

Players must lose twice to be eliminated. After their first loss, they move to a 'losers bracket' for a chance to play their way back to the championship match. This format is great for ensuring players get more than one game.

Round Robin

All players or teams play against each other at least once. The winner is determined by the overall win-loss record. Refer to our Round Robin Tool section for more details on running this format.
